COCONUT TREE – SUPPORT CROPS
- Serumani 1 type (Tamil name) Betel can be planted under Coconut trees. They climb and grow well. This makes Coconut tree too fertile. The raw coconuts do not fall down. Such coconut trees can withstand heat too.
- 15 days after planting Coconut saplings, Urad dal seeds can be sprinkled all over. It has plenty of root knots which bring Nitrogen. After harvesting, leave the roots in the soil itself.
- Cocoa, Vanilla and Nutmeg can be grown with Coconut trees but more gap should be given in between Patchouli grows under the shade of trees. It needs clay soil. It can be planted along with Coconut, Rubber and Plantain trees.
- Plantains and Lemon can be planted along with Coconuts.
COCONUT TREES AS FENCING TREES
If they are planted as fencing trees, the entire land can be used to grow Groundnut, Urad, Tur Dal and Grams. If sprinkler water is given to them, they grow wonderfully.
LIVE MULCHING
Glyricidia, Mullu Murungai, Kalyana Murungai, Agatti, Karun chittagatti, Seemai Agatti, Manila Agatti (Sesbania Roastrata),Sittagatti, Mulberry, Thakka iPoondu (Sesbania Aculata), Soobha grass and Sanka Pushpi can be grown with Coconut trees as live mulching.
COCONUT TREE AND JEEVAMRITHA
Once in 15 days, mix 200 liters of Jeevamritha in channel water for an acre. Do this monthly twice. This increases the good bacteria in the soil. The crop will grow well.

COCONUT TREES AND ALOE VERA
Plant Aloe Vera all around the Coconut saplings and trees to prevent them from pest attacks. The bitterness of its juice protects the trees.
PLANTING COCONUT SAPLINGS
The yield is faster if they are planted at the depth of 3 feet.
GUM OOZING OUT OF COCONUT TREES
There will not be many coconuts if the gum oozes out of the trees. Apply Lime up to 6 feet height from the bottom.
