Angel’s Trumpet

The Datura, a part of Coorg’s abundant flora, adorns its hills and dales. The plant is also known as Angel’s Trumpet and Moon flower.
The parts of the plant that are used are its seeds, leaves and flowers. The stalk of this plant is woody and its flowers, either white or purple. It can also be found in varying shades of yellow.

The Datura plant possesses the power to act as an anodyne (antiseptic), pain killer, narcotic (tranquilizer or sedative) and antispasmodic.
The medicinal use however, calls for some discretion as large doses can cause poisoning. It’s hence best to consult an Ayurveda expert before consumption.
The flowers of this plant are of different colors like pink, white, yellow and several more.
